eMail Settings
MAC
Mac OS X Mail
- Start by opening up the Macintosh Mail program.
- Select the Mail menu from the top navigation bar, and then select Preferences.
- In the Accounts window, click “+” in the lower left-hand corner of this window.
- Select the Account Information tab.
- Click on the Account Type pull-down menu and select POP or IMAP.
- In the Description field, enter a brief description that will help you quickly identify this e-mail account.
- Enter your full e-mail address (“yourname@yourdomain.com”, including the @yourdomain.com suffix) into the Email Address field.
- In the Full Name field, enter the name you would like your recipients to see in the “From” field of e-mails that you send.
- Type your Incoming Mail Server: mail.yourdomain.com
- In the User Name field, enter your full e-mail address again (“yourname@yourdomain.com”, including the @yourdomain.com suffix).
- Enter the Password for this e-mail account into the Password field. (this is optional)
- Select the Outgoing Mail Server pull-down menu. If you have no servers added yet, select Edit Server List… If you have an outgoing server set-up already that you’d like to edit, select “Edit Server List…” using the pull-down menu and select a server.
- Type your Outgoing Mail Server in the Server Name field: mail.yourdomain.com
- Click the Advanced button found immediately beneath the menu
- First, set the Outgoing Server Port to 587.
- Do not check the box next to Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
- Under the Authentication pull-down menu, select MD5 Challenge-response or Password.
- Next, enter your full e-mail address as username (i.e. your full e-mail address) into the User Name field, followed by your password in the Password field.
- Click OK to close this window and continue setting up your mail.
- Now back in the Accounts pane, select the Advanced tab.
- Click the Enable this Account check box. This will allow you to be able to send and receive mail on this account. Make sure that the incoming mail port is set to 110 for POP3 or 143 for IMAP and that the Authentication field is set to MD5 Challenge-response or Password.
- Click OK to complete setting up your e-mail. You will be asked to Save the Settings when you’re done.
iPhone or iPad
iOS Mail
- Start by opening up the Settings App.
- Select the Mail, Contacts, Calendars from the second section.
- Click the account you want to edit, or choose Add Account…
(If you’re editing an existing account tap it in the list of Accounts and skip to step 6) - If you’re adding a new account, choose “Other”.
- Click “Add Mail Account”.
- Under the IMAP tab:
Enter you Name as you’d like it to appear.
Enter your complete email in the Address field.
Enter your Password.
Enter a Description so you’ll know which account it is. - Press Next.
- Incoming Mail Server: Enter “mail.yourdomain.com” in Host Name.
- Outgoing Mail Server: Enter “mail.yourdomain.com” in Host Name.
- Press Next, the iPhone will attempt to Verify the settings.
- An Alert will open saying “Cannot Connect Using SSL”.
Press “Yes” to try connect without SSL. This will happen twice (once for Incoming and again for Outgoing.) - When it is finished verifying press Save. It will say Configuring Sync.
Enter your email as User Name “yourname@yourdomain.com”
Enter your Password.
Enter your email as User Name “yourname@yourdomain.com”
Enter your Password.
